Accessibility Statement
Fincentive Corp. is committed to ensuring that our website and digital services are accessible to all people, including individuals with disabilities. We believe that everyone deserves equal access to information and services online, and we are actively working to improve the accessibility of our digital presence in accordance with applicable standards and legislation.
1. Our Commitment
Fincentive Corp. strives to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, as referenced by the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) under the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (IASR). We are committed to making our website perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for all users.
This commitment extends to the digital properties we design and build for clients. Where Fincentive Corp. delivers custom-coded websites, we incorporate accessibility best practices into our development process as a standard part of our workflow.
Perceivable
Content is available through multiple senses. Images have descriptive alt text. Colour contrast meets WCAG AA standards.
Operable
All navigation and interactive elements are keyboard accessible. Mobile navigation closes on Escape key. Focus states are visible.
Understandable
Language is declared on every page. Forms have clear labels. Error messages are descriptive and helpful.
2. Measures Taken on This Website
The Fincentive IO website (fincentive.io) currently incorporates the following accessibility measures:
Visual Design
- Colour contrast ratios meet or exceed WCAG 2.1 Level AA requirements — gold (#C9A84C) on black (#0A0A0A) achieves approximately 8.5:1 contrast ratio, well above the 4.5:1 minimum
- Text sizing is set in relative units (rem) to respect user browser font size preferences
- Content does not rely on colour alone to convey information
Semantic HTML and Structure
- All pages use semantic HTML5 elements including header, nav, main, section, article, and footer
- Every page has a single, descriptive H1 heading with a logical heading hierarchy (H1 → H2 → H3)
- The HTML lang attribute is set to "en" on every page
- Landmark roles (banner, navigation, main, contentinfo) are present on all pages
Images and Media
- All meaningful images include descriptive alt text
- Decorative images and icons include aria-hidden="true" to avoid screen reader noise
- SVG icons include appropriate aria-label attributes where used as interactive elements
Navigation and Interaction
- All navigation elements are keyboard accessible via Tab key
- Mobile navigation can be dismissed using the Escape key
- The mobile navigation toggle includes aria-expanded state management
- All links have descriptive anchor text — no generic "click here" or "read more" without context
- All form inputs in the contact form have associated label elements
Performance and Compatibility
- The website is responsive and functional across mobile, tablet, and desktop screen sizes
- Content remains accessible when JavaScript is disabled or fails to load — all text content is visible by default without JavaScript
- The site is designed to be compatible with current versions of major screen readers including NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver
3. Known Limitations
While we work continuously to improve accessibility, we acknowledge the following known limitations on this website:
- Team photo placeholders on the About page are currently SVG graphics without full descriptive content — these will be updated when real team photos are added
- The Google Maps iframe embedded on the Contact page is a third-party element subject to Google's own accessibility standards, which are outside our direct control
- Some complex interactive animations may not be fully optimized for users who have enabled "prefers-reduced-motion" — we are working to implement reduced-motion media query support in a future update
- PDF documents linked from this site (if any) may not be fully accessible — we are working to provide accessible alternatives
4. AODA Compliance
Fincentive Corp. operates in Ontario, Canada, and is subject to the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA). We are committed to meeting the requirements of the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (IASR), including the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 Level AA for websites and web content published after January 1, 2012.
As a private sector organization with fewer than 50 employees, Fincentive Corp. is subject to applicable small business accessibility requirements under AODA. We are working toward full compliance and will continue to improve our digital accessibility over time.
5. Accessibility in Client Deliverables
When Fincentive Corp. builds custom websites or digital tools for clients, we incorporate the following accessibility practices as standard:
- Semantic HTML5 structure with appropriate landmark roles
- WCAG 2.1 Level AA colour contrast verification
- Keyboard navigation testing for all interactive elements
- Alt text implementation for all meaningful images
- Form label association for all input fields
- Responsive design for mobile, tablet, and desktop viewports
Clients who require enhanced accessibility compliance (including WCAG 2.1 Level AAA, Section 508, or EN 301 549) should discuss their specific requirements with us during the project scoping phase.
6. Feedback and Contact
We welcome feedback on the accessibility of the Fincentive IO website. If you experience any barriers to accessing content or functionality on our site, or if you require content in an alternative format, please contact us:

- Incorporating accessibility considerations into all new website features and content
- Staying current with evolving WCAG guidelines and AODA requirements
